Why walk?

Isn't it the opposite?

We don't walk enough!

Humanity has always walked

We were hunter gatherers

We then discovered farming

In one place

Keeping livestock

In one place

Put down roots- literally

Retrace those steps

Rediscover the Earth

-------------------------------

Solvitur ambulado

It means "solve it through walking"

Clears ones head

I get my best ideas after a long walk

I'm more creative after a walk

I'm definately healthier

Tired, but healthier

It's a connection to nature

To the world around me

To the people around me

It's a state of mind

Wandering, wondering

Getting ones eye in

Aware of the species around

Of the changing scenery

Love it, live it

Describe it and pass it on

Enthusiasm,

Be enthused

Forget Come Dancing

Come Walking

WHY  (The philosophy )

walkitcornwall is a new venture arising out of the sheer pleasure we get from walking.
This started "up country" on the North Downs, Yorkshire Moors, South Downs,
Pembrokeshire Coast, Chilterns, along the length of the Thames and of course
the South West Coast Path.

The philosophy behind setting up walkitcornwall came from the understanding
that by taking time to recognise the geology, flora and both social
and natural history along the journey, it heightens the overall pleasure one gets from a walk.

By the end of the walk we hope you would have learned the art of how to recognise
when, how and why habitats change and therefore what to expect to see.
It's the interaction between the local environment and homo sapiens.

Who was it who said "It is not the destination but the journey"?

We believe that fully and want to share our (and your) knowledge of the journey
on arguably the best patch of coastal Britain. See Map.
