Hotel Based Guided Walks in Cornwall
Hotel walking breaks in Cornwall
We have three walking breaks confirmed with our regular hotels in 2012.
We are in our sixth year with the award winning Budock Vean Hotel on the Helford River.
We are delighted to be working again with the Vean at Caerhays Castle over on the Roseland peninsula.
All walking breaks include five nights of luxury accommodation and facilities Sunday to Friday with three days of walks.
We work with these hotels on shorter walking breaks because they do offer something special.
You will not get in one package together the personalised walking itinerary in conjunction with the sheer quality and facilities of our partner hotels.
This is unrivalled in the "world of walking" and not to be offered anywhere else in Cornwall.
2012 dates for Budock Vean Hotel walking break
Sunday 29th April to Friday 4th May
2012 will be our sixth year of operation and we are leading our sixth themed walking week for the Budock Vean Hotel.
If you like mixing five course dinners, beauty treatments, swimming pool, a golf course and a four-star award-winning hotel with your walking then this is the trip for you.
Guest experts often join us on the walks. Two talks on separate evenings are organised with themes related to the walks as part of the package. What is your special interest? Geology, botany, mining, birds, literature, culture or just gazing?
We will try to match your interests to the walks and our guest experts.
Budock Vean 2012 Itinerary: Theme is "All paths once again lead to the Budock Vean Hotel" Same as 2011 but different walks.
In our sixth year of leading walks for the Budock Vean Hotel we are once again looking at some innovative walks that include some hidden gems;of paths infrequently traversed, full of history and stories of local folk.
This break will build up a picture of the surrounding area within which the hotel you have chosen stands.
We are glad that so many people return not only on the walking break but also to the hotel year after year.
We are also aware that many do not know many of the paths or indeed the history of the area, which includes Iron Age settlements; pirates from Africa, the Intelligence services and famous immigrants of the 2nd world War and European designated Conservation Areas with unique flora and fauna.
We spend three days walking 7 miles (12kms) each day over a variety of terrain including woodlands, estuaries, creeks, beaches and bridleways.
A good level of fitness and good walking boots and waterproofs are essential.
Monday 30th April:- A walk over the farmland, woodland and estuaries of the North Helford River
Tuesday 1st May:- Country lanes, ancient footpaths and settlements unchanged for centuries.
Thursday 3rd May:- On the Lizard peninsula: Porthallow to Helford along the South West Coast Path.

The Vean at Caerhays Castle (date April 22nd-27th)
We are delighted to announce that we are running a walking break with the Vean in 2012 following a successful walking break last year.
The Vean is part of the Caerhays Estate and Gardens. Please view the Vean website for details, accommodation and facilities.
The Vean is a three storey, eight bedroomed luxury country house retreat which sleeps up to 16 people.
The house has stunning views over Caerhays Castle Gardens and the wooded Porthluney Valley.
Its idyllic rural location is less than a mile from the family-friendly beach of Porthluney and less than two miles from the sandy coves at Portholland.
The beautifully furnished, elegant Georgian country house with all the trappings and comforts of a modern luxury home has once again been awarded 5 * with a Gold Award, the highest accolade awarded by the Quality in Tourism for serviced accommodation. This award recognises the quality of accommodation and standard of service available at this luxury property and assures guests of the highest standard of comfort and service.
A five night exclusive break includes three days of guided walking on the Monday, Tuesday and Thursday leaving the Wednesday free to enjoy other activities in the area, or to put your feet up and relax.
The Vean has a masseuse who would be delighted to provide you with a relaxing and reviving massage. Tours of Caerhays Castle and Caerhays Castle Gardens could also be arranged on the Wednesday if booked in advance.
Anyone accompanying a walker, who does not want to walk, is more than welcome to come and stay, and be pampered, at a reduced price for the five night stay.
All (ensuite) rooms £750 per person for the five day break inclusive of the cost of the walkitcornwall walks, dinner bed and breakfast.
