I've published my pictures on facebook and my friends cannot believe that Cornwall is so amazingly beautiful. One of my friends is thinking of taking her mum on your walking holiday:-) I've recommended Walkitcornwall to her, as being based in Falmouth is definitely a better option and from personal experience, she will have a great and fun time with you.

So what do you want to know that this picture can't tell you? What can one say about this weather? The Thesaurus has many words for Unprecedented:- abnormal, yup; exceptional, right; freakish, definately; unheard of, unparallelled yes the list goes on which are factually correct descriptions of the Cornwall summer, and elsewhere I hear you cry- well that's impossible actually over fibre optics but you get my gist.
The idea of the 5 day Lizard walk is to complete the 37.5 mile (60km) linear walk around the spectacular Lizard peninsula. The actuality was to change the order of the days so that we could actually see the best bits and not to contract Trenchfoot on other parts. Half expecting to find Warhorse and other extras from the film along the route we were grateful that by leaving the worst bits aside and concentrating on the jewels we w ould indeed experience the "Best of" the Lizard. In reality we only missed about 3.5 miles of the whole path which under the -here we go with the thesaurus- unrivalled conditions was a feat in itself. I definately haven't seen the coast path like this in 10 years even in Winter.
My guest for the week Ian has been here before, in five days of non stop sunshine, so whilst it was a challenge it was in the knowledge that it was, unusual, to say the least. We are doing the walk in September again and already 8 people are booked in. Here's hoping that this unequalled historic weather event will be a distant memory.
We did get a couple of good days with some great views, but no walking sandals or shorts for us. But there were 90 plus different species of flowers- well, we were looking down quite a bit to see them....
