Today's walkitcornwall quote

"Twitter makes you love people you've never met and Facebook makes you hate people you actually know". - Scotty Rosenberg

Thoroughly enjoyed the holiday, an opportunity to see cornwall up close without having to consider where to park the car. Have enjoyed the walks for several years and look ofrward to more.

- Harry & Pam, South Wales

Days Out and Walking Holidays in Cornwall

Walking holiday in Cornwall April 2011

It felt like summer with five days of non-stop sunshine and from walking in sandals I am already striped like a zebra on my feet (if it is one zebra surely it should be many zebrii?).

The first walking group of the year arrived care of Martin Hunt's Adventureline walking holidays for a walking holiday in Cornwall. Role call: Robert and Janice from Australia, Jiang from South Korea, Lucia from Spain and Marianne from Bristol.

Monday, we went to Holywell Bay where the tide was out in the morning so we could get into the cave where we all scrambled up into the tiny cavern above the pools. The sea was bone numbingly cold which obviously didn’t deter the surfers. The waves were big on Crantock Beach.

Tuesday we were at Zennor and Wicca Pool. The Tinners Arms always a haven for drinks. We enjoyed a lunch down on the stunning Porthzennor Beach. A worthwhile trek down and up. We were obviously rehearsing for Tintagel and Boscastle on Wednesday which was a long day with two walks around both villages. Thursday was the Lizard peninsula and the jewel in the crown that is Kynance Cove, the southernmost point and Church cove in the east of the Lizard village. The new RNLI station rebuild is going well. Ann’s pasties as ever for lunch which were, for the overseas visitors a new taste but not hopefully a once in a lifetime culinary experience. Delighted, they were too.

Friday we were in the wooded valleys and costal edge of the Helford River. It was Trigging Friday- the Good Friday tradition where people go cockling on Helford Passage beach. A very large crowd and it actually dared to rain, which sent people scuttling for their cars just as we decided to leave also. So we walked to our destination of the Budock Vean hotel for a fabulous and well-earned Cream Tea - again a first for many of our group.

As ever the photos are testament to the week and again they do not do justice to actually being there enveloped by this mesmerising scenery. What a walking week in Cornwall does for your well-being is immeasurable.
